The competition for the number 9 spot since Odion Ighalo retired from the Super Eagles is currently being courted by proven players including Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu who are first and second choice respectively. Cyriel Dessers, Kelechi Iheanacho, Simy Nwankwo and Terem Moffi are not far off as well.
Taiwo Adeniyi has been compared to legend Rashid Yekini with his traditional and physical style of play and he is currently enjoying the best form of his life in the Bundesliga. He has constantly featured for Union Berlin contributing 5 goals and 1 assist thereby removing his past loan spells that have not been remarkable.
He still has a lot to prove and show why he needs to be in the team even as the season has just begun. If he can keep up his high performances, it won’t be long before Rohr includes him in his plans.
